On Thanksgiving morning, West 70th Street and Central Park West becomes one of the most remarkable places in New York City.
Right alongside the Thanksgiving Day Parade, volunteers from different faith communities gather under a gigantic tent for the annual Thanksgiving Pack-A-Thon, packing food for New Yorkers in need as the parade passes by.
And as soon as the parade is over, another Thanksgiving celebration begins!
New Yorkers in need will arrive at the Masbia Relief Annex, which opened at this very corner nearly a year ago, to pick up a freshly cooked, traditional Thanksgiving feast to bring home.
A gigantic Thanksgiving spread! Turkey, all the trimmings, everything that makes a traditional Thanksgiving dinner special, plus groceries to help families stock their kitchens.
For these New Yorkers, Thanksgiving won’t just be something to watch from the sidelines. They’ll be bringing a Thanksgiving feast home to their own tables.
You Can Make That Thanksgiving Dinner Possible!
For just $54, you can sponsor a complete Thanksgiving meal for one person in need.
Sponsor one meal for $54, five meals for $270, or ten meals for $540. Every additional $54 puts another Thanksgiving dinner on someone’s table.
On a day when millions watch the parade and families across America gather around their tables, you can help make sure that our neighbors in need have something to celebrate, too.
All of this takes place right outside the historic Congregation Shearith Israel, America’s first Jewish congregation, our host and partner. The synagogue holds a special Thanksgiving service, continuing a tradition dating back to George Washington’s time, along with children’s parade viewing from its portico and the multi-faith volunteer Pack-A-Thon.

This Thanksgiving, be part of more than the parade. Be part of feeding someone.
